In 2024, Bible sales in the U.S. jumped a surprising 22%, far outpacing the general print book market, as reported by The Wall Street Journal using data from Circana BookScan. This surge points to a growing hunger for authentic spiritual content that speaks to the complexities of modern life. Amid this renewed spiritual curiosity, readers are finding authors with unique, grounded perspectives. One of them is Jimmy L Mount, a retired law enforcement officer from near Tyler, Texas, whose writing connects the world of gritty reality with profound faith.
What is the story behind Jimmy L Mount writing these books?
Jimmy L Mount’s path to becoming an author wasn't exactly conventional. After a 30-year career in law enforcement, he had no plans to start writing. But his two books, Get Out and its sequel Got Out, Staying Out-Divine Intervention, came from what he describes as a series of vivid, compelling dreams. He felt a divine call to share a message that, until then, he'd never felt the need to put into words.
